Thanks for a great riding season everyone!

The riding season is drawing to a close. Sixteen members and friends came out for our annual Polar Bear Ride enjoying temperatures in the 30's and 40's before a stop at Joey's in Amherst, NH.

November Breakfast Club at teh Kozy Cabin in Barre.

Still three bikes on the ride!

A stop at the Vanilla Bean in Pomfret, CT for lunch.

Leave your playing card face up so they can deliver your order!

Sure... I get one cell phone picture on my work email telling me it is a great day for a ride... and the second on my home email! And once you see them both you can figure out who was sneaking out for ice cream on a Thursday afternoon!

A late season stop at the UConn Dairy for ice cream

...so what if it is 43 degrees outside!

Columbus Day weekend gave us four gorgeous days to ride (I took Friday off too). On Columbus Day some of us met up with a couple of Amherst FD guys (who are thinking of starting an RK chapter) and went for a ride,

We found that Kimballs in Jaffrey was closing at the end of the day and thought we'd help them get rid of some of their stock.
(Whether you believe it or not this huge "Kimball's Special" was actually being eaten by a teenager next to us and not one of us!)

Dummerston (Vermont)
Apple Pie Festival
Can't get much better than this...

...a perfect fall day with Apple Pie, slices of sharp Vermont Cheddar, home made ice cream, and motorcycles.

Are those Red Knights at a pub? It's OK, just an Officers' Meeting over breakfast at the Thirsty Turttle!

On the beach on Cape Cod

It's Fire Prevention Week...

So we're back to Jaffrey for the breakfast at JFD.

A stop at "Third Base" in Winchester, NH for some grub on a beautiful summer's day.

Chapter President Bob Laford is called onto stage at the New England Ride for Kids representing the chapter as one of the top three fund raising groups at the ride.

Nearly 200 riders brought in over $36,000 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation at this year's Ride for Kids

You know that it's an authentic country store when there are trophy mounts above the dairy case!

Take a fun ride west on Route 116 and stop at the PAGES Coffee Bar & Bookstore in Conway... great roads abound and a fun place to stop for coffee, treats, and a break with the books to fill your time!

Some of the chapter members enjoying a evening meal at the Long Trail Brewery and Pub

Mass-2 and Mass-13 participated in Mass-3's Bill Hodge Memorial Run and helped raise over $2,000 for the Shriner's Burn Center.

It's all good when the season brings motorcycles and ice cream together!

(With the bikes parked on the backside of the common) We enjoyed a peaceful coffee and sweets from (nearby) Kristina's on the Belchertown Common.

It was a perfect summer's day for our July 4 weekend Cookout. Had a big crowd find their way into Petersham for the afternoon and had an overabundance of food!

RK Vermont-2 sure knows how to throw a party! We went up for their annual Ray's Ride, had a great ride around the area... and when it came to door prizes I think Mass-2 took the record! We were beginning to think that we would need to get a trailer to get everything home!

Oooo... so cool!

The week of July 4th saw temperatures break 100 degrees in Mass. Our Asst. Road Captain was out for a ride along the Mohawk Trail and took advantage of the refreshing river along the route!

Yea, yea, we know... follow the rules!
But really Officer our president didn't see the sign before we parked!

Chaper VP Kevin Martin was on a 5,000 mile post-Americade jaunt to welcome in summer. As he returned to New England a group of Red Knights met him at UConn to share some ice cream. Then he was stopped at the Mass border to make sure his credentials were in order!

At the 2010 Central Mass Safety Council Dinner, Walter Roach was honored with a recognition from the Council for his years of work and enthusiasm with the Safety Council

Congratulations to Mary Barclay on successfully completing her Beginner Rider Course and getting her motorcycle endorsement!

Mass-2 "Skills Day" 2010
No matter how long you have been riding, skills practice is time well spent. Even an old codger can learn something to improve his (or her) riding skills!

When was the last time you were a passenger? It is quite a different perspective!

(Gives you greater respect for the trust that person sitting behind you gives to you!)

What is Skills Day?

Oh! Those poor tennis balls!

At our Spring Weekend in the Berkshires

VIP treatment at the Yankee Inn in Lenox. Under cover for the rain Friday night

We met up with members of NY 29 for their annual "Ride to the Home" and won 'the furthest traveled!"

A stop at the NY State Firemen's Home in Hudson

A very special place for a group of very special people.

Our annual stop at Mother Anna's in the North End. ...on the train ride home there were some many pictures of sleeping Red Knights that there is not enough room for them all!

Oh No!...

Peg and the Mayor!

Hey, how many horse power is that!?!

The first day of spring saw temperatures in the 70's and Bob's Wing under an HD escort. First for breakfast at Reed's Country Store in New Braintree and then for an ice cream at the UConn Dairy Bar.

Having breakfast under the surveillance of a grizzly bear at Michael's Bridge Diner in Clinton.

Participants in the welcome home parade & celebration for USMC Sgt Joshua Bouchard in Holyoke

March 6... 50 degrees!

The Americade Planning meeting brought out a few bikes and big smiles!

Hmmm... what's that date?
Someone (or two) snuck out for some February riding!

Off for another breakfast together. Saturday courtesy of the Boy Scouts at the Rollstone Church in Fitchburg and Sunday courtesy of the Royalston FD.

Do we really know where we are going? It was guy's day out via the train to Boston (and no, we did not get lost - do we go in bound or outbound??)...

...with a visit to the New England Motorcycle Expo...

...and lunch at Mother Anna's where four of the members had never dined before!

At the January Pot-luck, David O'Dess with the Ride for Kids presented the chapter with a citation for its fundraising efforts in the 2009 RFK.

Picture from the Athol Daily News www.atholdailynews.com

There is always a lot of commotion, talking, laughing, and a general ruckus when we are together... until the food comes out, then it is very quiet!

It's January, what a better time for Marcia's home-made ICE CREAM!

Opening the new decade with a January "Breakfast Club" at the Firehouse Pub (yes, breakfast)
